The MSG is a legitimate school in three subjects that meets one week per month for nine modules from September to May.  Students are taught one month of material in 5 days (M-F). The remainder of the time the students complete their assignments at home or in local groups.  We allow MKs from various locations to be part of a school community, and hopefully help families continue to fulfill their calling.  This can be people from Chiang Mai, other locations in Thailand, and the surrounding countries.

The MSG model has been operating in one Asian location since 2007. We have had a great deal of success, with students enjoying the program and families feeling well-supported.

The cost of one year’s tuition at the MSG varies by location and number of students enrolled. The currently operating MSG has a tuition level of 1,700 USD. The target for MSG in Chiang Mai is less than 2,000 USD per student per year, but will depend on fixed costs such as facility rental and variable income such as size of enrollment. This cost includes books, lunches, and all other fees.

We hope to launch the school in August of 2019.  This is largely dependent on the demand and the presence of teaching, administrative and boarding staff in Chiang Mai.

The MSG has been running since 2007 and we have never been accredited. In general, we think that accreditation is good, but the nature of the MSG does not lend itself to an easy accreditation process. We believe we can accomplish our task without accreditation. Therefore, those who need an accredited diploma need to find another schooling option.

English includes reading, writing, vocabulary, poetry, speech and the writing of research papers.

The short answer is none. We do not have a Music, Art, or Sports program. The program is mostly academic.  The High School is in class from 8 AM till 5 PM and there is little time for other activities.  The Middle School runs from 8 AM till 3:30 PM. We encourage parents to involve their children in these activities during the three weeks at home.

This is possible but strongly discouraged.  If you have special circumstances you can contact the school administration and discuss your needs.

After the school has been operating for several years this may become more possible.

Students with special needs are evaluated on a case by case basis.  The currently operating MSG has had success with many children with mild to moderate special needs. However we provide no specially trained teachers or guaranteed plans.  Every teacher will make accommodations as they are able.

Due to the special and intense nature of the MSG (one intense week a month) it can be harder for students with special needs than at a regular school.
