modular study group model
Students start their assignments in late August, then attend one week of in-person classes two weeks later. Afterwards, they continue working on their assignments from home for three weeks with support from the MSG. During the time away from the MSG, students complete pre-work and post-work. This cycle repeats nine times and ends in early to mid-May.
Excellence in the spiritual, academic, and social development of teenagers to support their families’ ongoing service in SE Asia.
Mission Statement
To glorify God by supporting families serving in SE Asia addressing the core educational and social needs of their teenagers in an environment that encourages their devotion to Christ.
Learning Experience
At MSG we believe that creating a learning environment is important. Our small class sizes ensure that each child receives the individual attention and support they need to excel. Our dedicated and helpful teachers are always available to provide guidance and assistance.
MSG education is holistic. Our library is a great resource, offering a wide range of books. Educational trips provide opportunities for students to broaden their horizons and experience new things. We also prioritize spiritual development with a daily chapel program that provides a space for reflection and growth. Our on-site cook prepares delicious and nutritious lunches every day, while chores are given to enhance work ethic and sense of responsibility.
Boarding Home Experience
The boarding homes provide students with a warm and familial atmosphere, with each dorm housing up to 14 children and two dedicated dorm parents and additional dorm assistants who look after them.
During the weekdays, students have a set schedule: they wake up and have breakfast before heading off to the MSG, and when they return, they have dinner, study, and free time to socialize. Lights-out is at 9:30 pm, asleep by 10:00 pm.
The dorms also offer a range of activities to ensure a well-rounded experience. In the evenings, there is the opportunity to play outside, have time to study, or simply relax with friends. Spiritual development is prioritized, therefore, our dorms include a time for worship and reflection to nourish the student’s spiritual lives.
Leadership Experience
MSG provides a StuCo (Student Council) that selects students through voting at the start of each academic year. This council serves as the representative body of the student community and is responsible for organizing events such as Spirit Days. By joining the StuCo, a student can develop essential skills such as leadership, teamwork, and organizational abilities.
Child Protection Policy
At MSG, we prioritize the safety and well-being of children. We follow the Child Safety and Protection Network, which is designed to prevent any form of abuse, neglect or harm to children. With a team of trained staff, clear policies and procedures, and regular child safety training, we are committed to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for all.
