Chapel

At MSG, we prioritize spiritual growth and development, and we believe that fostering a strong sense of community is key to achieving this goal. To that end, we hold a 30-minute chapel session each day, during which we read the Bible and worship with live music.

We encourage students to engage with their spiritual lives and support one another on their spiritual journeys.

Our commitment to worship and spiritual growth is just one aspect of our overall mission to provide a holistic education that prepares students for success in all areas of life.

Schedules

Each day of in-person studies includes attending three classes between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. The day also includes a lunch break, morning chapel time, and completing a chores assignment.

Detailed annual schedules are available upon request.

What extracurricular activities are there?

In short, we do not offer any extracurricular activities at the MSG. Since we need to cover all the necessary material within a week, there is limited time for other activities. However, we encourage parents to engage their children in Music, Art, or Sports programs during the three weeks at home.

Is a partial year possible?

This is possible but discouraged. If you have special circumstances, you can contact the administration and discuss your needs.

How does the program accommodate special needs?

We evaluate children with special needs on a case-by-case basis, and while we had success with many children who had mild to moderate special needs, we do not provide specially trained teachers or guaranteed plans. Instead, every teacher will make accommodations as they are able. It’s important to note that due to the special and intense nature of the MSG program (one intense week a month), children with special needs may find it more challenging compared to a regular school.

Do students need to do all 3 classes?

At the MSG, we understand that some children may have unique circumstances that make it difficult for them to attend all three classes. In such cases, we work with the child and their family to identify which classes they can attend and how we can best support them in achieving their educational goals. We believe that every child
deserves a chance to succeed, and we are committed to providing a flexible learning environment that meets their individual needs.

What are the in person education requirements?
Ideally, your child will attend in-person classes for one week per month during the school year in Chiang Mai, Thailand. If travel to the location is difficult or not possible during modules, it is possible to attend classes live through Zoom.

MSG Community

Ways parents can connect:

  • Parent representative
  • Parent LINE group
  • Orientation on the Saturday before the first on-campus module week (usually early September)
  • Closing Ceremony on last day of school (usually mid-May)

MSG has been a wonderful experience for our child, and our family. I’ve seen my son grow and flourish from the educational and social opportunities MSG provides. The flexibility of the schedule frees up time for our family to be together and for Zach to join in our ministry.

MISTY, MSG-CNX PARENT

I have been an MSG student for 2 years now and if I could summarize my MSG experience in one word it would be “amazing.” MSG has provided not only an option for school that allows my family to stay in our mission field, but it has also given me a close community of friends I would never have had without MSG. The 1 week in person, 3 weeks at home system also provides a perfect balance for me of intense learning time and time that I can devote to serving at home as well. The teachers are amazing and have even turned subjects I used to hate into engaging, interesting classes. And most of all, as a dorm student I have developed really close friendships with my dormmates, while at the same time growing together in our faith in Christ. In all, I would like to highly recommend the MSG to any TCKs looking for a workable school program for 7-12th grade.

Heidi, MSG Student

The MSG school and community stands out from other co-op programs as it’s centre and core mission is to provide good education and grounding community for missionary kids who live in remote and more isolated areas. As an alumni, i can confidently say I received both. MSG pushed me and challenged me as a student and as a friend. It gave me a safe place to find friends and community as well as grow as a person. My relationship with God grew which made my friendships grow. MSG is more than a school for me, it’s a home, and that is a word, as an MK/TCK, I do not take lightly.
